Ah yes...the cows are home. Inspired originally by Steve Fielding, who wrote the infectious blues riff that starts the song. Harley adds cryptic lyrics in the mushroom-magician's lair of imagery....for as the cows were the true stoners of the ages....I'd wager of all living beings, they have had the highest number of minds in an altered state throughout the history of hallucinagenic fungoidal grazing. But I digress, as did they, but of course, eventually, as we all know, the cows, did indeed, after all, come home.
lyrics
You left me home you made my pigs cry
You left me home you made my pigs cry
You left me home you made my pigs cry
and the cows are coming home
You left me home you made my pigs cry
You left me home you made my pigs cry
You left me home you made my pigs cry
and the cows are coming...
home
I got dust in my head and my dog needs water
I got dust in my head and my dog needs water
I got dust in my head and my dog needs water
and the cows are coming home
I got dust in my head and my dog needs water
I got dust in my head and my dog needs water
I got dust in my head and my dog needs water
and the cows are coming...
home
You left my home you made my pigs cry.....
(imaginary additional verse, not heard on the recording, but felt my me, whenever this song is played anywhere, at any time, by anyone)
{midget getting brown on one side needs turning
the scarecrow begging for dung needs burning
the female plants in my shack need ferning,
and the cows are coming home}
